While in the mists of vidding 'Matches to Paper Dolls' I said to xandra_ptv, 'We should do a TXF vid-challenge. One vid per season.' Xandra being who she is said, 'Sure.' Because this is the stuff I randomly throw at her to see if something sticks. Finding the right song on such short notice was an hair-pulling experience I will repeat in about, uhm, NOW. The season itself holds up pretty well when you consider it was filmed 1992/93, they had some really cool scenes for TV back then. So this vid happened, mostly because I found S1-Scully precious and her hair wasn't as bad as I remembered, which can only mean that S2 will be hilarious in that department.

Oh, my gosh, I have no words for how much this delights me! I love how fresh and exciting and immediate you make XF S1 seem. It's awesome to see a vid for Scully at this point in time, and I adore the song you chose. Plus, your editing style has always been one of my very favorites in fandom, and this did not disappoint. Really, really gorgeous. So cool that you thought of doing this!

What fascinated me was that with TXF you have this huge 9 seasons, it's iconic for a reason and the seasons tend to blend together, at least in my mind. But each season pulled me more in as a fan till S8 and has its own arc, plus the characters are on different stages, so why not highlight that? I have maybe thought of it, but Xandra pushed me, otherwise it might have been just another idea that didn't stick.

And I was positively surprised by how well that show aged, questionable fashion choices aside, they really took care directing and filming. Okay, enough rambling, I'm thrilled that you loved the vid and the challenge behind it and thank you so much for your feedback.

Season 1 of XF was very important to me. It was one of the first shows (if not THE first) that I ever started watching right from the beginning, week to week, and I shared that season with a dear friend of mine. Scully was absolutely my favorite thing about it, and the thing my childhood friend and I connected over, and seeing these images again reminds me of how excited I was by the show in those days. I loved how dark (literally and figuratively) it was, and I'd always watched "old" TV (became a Star Trek fan decades after the show was on the air; watched other shows only when they were over) so S1 XF was really intense for me. This vid captures everything about how the show affected me back then, and I love it so much.

I watched ST with my dad since I was 7 or so, but TXF were my first evening show. The pilot aired here in Germany when I was 14 and pulled me in. It was exactly the show I didn't know I was waiting for. It was magic, so Monday nights were set. I can absolutely relate to your story, I remember talking about it with my friends in school and like you, Scully was my favorite. She could do no wrong and I loved her rationality, curiosity and courage to face things that she had to explain to herself. And the cliffhangers were the worst, especially once the mythology took off. The whole uncertainty were the show was going, was just so exciting and the dark turns could induce goosebumps. It was the first show I felt fannish enough about to buy books and ep guides for it.

Hehe, I loved making 'To be a Ghost' - it was a vidding high. I tried the alpha mask in one scene, after that I suddenly had enough room on my timeline to include clip alternatives and the song worked fantastic with the effect and Dean. Good times.
