The Reckoning was actually our first joint vid and an examination of multi fandom femme slash which lead naturally to the male slash one we posted back in June. xandra_ptv and I were mostly sitting on this one for half a year – time flies. Heh.

So I got tagged by millylicious and artphilia: Pick 10 people and give them the "you make my day" award. If you're picked, you are charged with picking 10 of your own.

Well the picking was hard, I have such a bunch of wonderful and talented people on my flist, don’t be sad, if you didn’t make it on the list.

Alphabetical order

artphilia: Fan artist and web designer par excellence with such an passion and eye for her various and time-consuming projects she takes on. The shire will to drive the quality and accessibility onto the next level and makes everybody feel welcome and right at home in her archives. So if you write German fic or read it and you don’t know about her fanfix yet, hey, what are you waiting for? It’s such a cozy and interesting place to met new authors, I would have otherwise missed.

charmax: She does some vids and other stuff like blends or something, if I am not mistaken. I think she did some icons too – It’s not too bad, you should check her stuff out. Yeah, right. Who am I fucking kidding? It’s Charmax I’m talking about, so everything she tries her hands on is turning out covered in gold - shiny, timeless and too precious to even grasp the shire genius behind every frame. I am not kidding about her vids being timeless; I have still some favourites she is now cringing to admit saved on my external hard drive and love the way they are highlighting some long lost aspects of Buffy and Angel. Like the parallels and differences between Buffy/Giles and Faith/Mayor. Or why Buffy really loved her men in long black coats.

giandujakiss: She does all the hard fandom research and brings the LOLz, OMGs, reviews, meta and recs straight up on my flist with beautiful snark and devotion. There is so much stuff I would have missed if not for her and I know that I rarely comment on her LJ, but I just love reading her entries, never knowing what will be up next.

liv_7677: Is the force behind bff and what a force to be reckoned with. (Don’t mention that I said that to Chris!) She takes the hundredth discussion to Slash vs. Het gracefully, always patient and I really don’t wanna know what dumb stuff she gets asked in PMs and has to deal with on weekly, if not daily basis. I just know she cleaned up my screwed up Dawn/Gies pairing when I and my keyboard were a little L-handicapped and didn’t feel like I needed to copy&paste my pairings list, because how hard could it be to type out three of them? Yepp, that hard. It wasn’t the first time for her to just correct stuff like that or add additional notes for sequels in my fanfic-index. So I give you this award, because all that hard work you pour into bff to run it smoothly? Never goes unnoticed, even when we don’t say ‘Thank you so much for dealing with our screw-ups!’ often enough.

millylicious: Is awesome and smart and funny, don’t you know? She studies history and her life inspires the stalker in me. I got her permission, so I guess it is okay, that I use her lj as sounding board for arc reviews I would never write down otherwise. And she is a wonderful vidder with the eye for connections and the brain to drawn them out in plain view.

morgandawn: I couldn’t keep up with her, if I tried to, besides keeping me with her LJ updated on various themes involving copyright, law, finances and fandom. She gives us cats, quotes and brilliance.

ryty: My boy made my week with something Xandra passed along and made me a very happy person. Even if he doesn’t post that often, he still has my heart and I will wait patiently for the day, that one of my dreams come true. Even when Xandra says it is sick and I should get some therapy. *laughs*

titenani: Is back on LJ after a hard year and still the same positive power I fell in love with. I seriously hope life gets easier for you, my darling, in the meantime keep us posted and never disappear again, because I might let the helldogs loose this time around. *tackles and hugs*

xandra_ptv: Makes me a whole person, laugh a lot and feel sane for random rants, explicit profanity and serious declarations of love, passion or weird shit like this from three days ago: ‘Angry eye-fucking alert. Mulder looks like he is about to throw Scully against the wall and go down on her.’ Xandra: “Which ep?” Me: ‘I have nine hours of timeline in my preview window.’ She: ‘And?’ Me: ‘The ep with the kidnapping parallels, season 3, first half.’ She three minutes later: ‘The whole ep is foreplay and you are right, he wants to fuck her against the wall.’ Which then leaded to in-depth discussions how all XF case presentations can be summarized as Mulders hidden: ‘I want to fuck you, Scully.’ Scully: ‘Not now, Mulder, you have to earn it.’ Variations of this theme through the whole ep and at the end Mulder: ‘I wouldn’t have run into trouble/Nothing bad would have happened if you just fucked me at the office.’ Scully: ‘Well, where would be the fun in that?’ See, the thing is? This makes visually so much sense if you are vidding and therefore the sound is off - You don’t go back looking at them the same way. It’s actually frightening. It doesn’t help that I now believe 3x22 Quagmire with the sound on is in subtext about Mulder’s desire to knock Scully up and her doubting his devotion and grasping the concept of parenthood in reality, so she wants to have casual sex some more before committing to him. While the actual text is Scully wants to use the cozy hotel bed and Mulder going for outdoor sex. I would be worried about my view, if it wasn’t so damn entertaining and the whole series takes on a whole new meaning.

yourlibrarian: I look forward to read her brilliant metas, recs and reviews. She always has a way to critique with love and it’s so refreshing to read her eloquent opinion on any topic. She has just this insight into my show(s) that at times feels complete and true and at other instances makes the characters appear less dumb and help me understand them in a new light. Because even when I differ in my emotional response, I always get where she is coming from and I appreciate her sharing her understanding of the characters. I also love following her links to interesting stuff, I would have otherwise missed.

So a few months ago I started the sequel of ‘Address Unknown’ 8.000 words in and my muse left me. Now I’m 12.000+ words in or finished with the first four chapters and I feel like I only finished the first third, if I think positive. I mean Cordelia and Faith only had a phone call with the Winchesters so far and packing eight years of history and establishing the plot ate up the first two chapters. Plus Ellen, Bobby and later Wes will take up scenes; there is a mystery and snarky flirting between Faith and Cordy in their healthy eight year relationship. So all I need to do now, is writing some hot femme slash, get the four together and get the plot moving.

The oddity for me is that this fic is becoming really dialog driven and I usually do the deep thinking stuff – well it is great to write and 2.000 words is a good daily count for me over the last two days. And to tease because I feel like it, I finished the cover back then and a wallpaper in two sizes, I'm sure I never posted here:

Why do I always end up watching XF instead of vidding? I watched half of the sixth and eight season and these aren't even my favourites, just because I forgot what the scene in the preview was about and then couldn't stop. I suck sometimes at focus or answering emails. I get back to you todayartphilia, but not with good news. Never saw DC, never cared to. Sorry, we will tackle your vidding issues then, this week should be less stressful.

Yesterday I spent 140 € on an electric toothbrush. I also wasted 320 € in total in Media Markt, which only contributed in 20 € for Denis birthday present. I yet need to feel guilty about it. I know I should and my reasoning for getting the high-end, high-tech toothbrush being: ‘But I waste more money on cloths, so why playing cheap now?’ isn’t really the point or convincing. Same goes for the new 320 GB external hard drive or the 4 GB USB stick, plus other useful stuff.

Aw, who the fuck cares. I brushed my teeth six times today alone. Muhahaha.
