Even though this Brand New album is my favorite and I have heard the song a zillion times, your video was still so very very moving. I'm surprised at how lonely it made me feel that Dean is. I'm actually quite choked up right now.
You reminded me of what we learned in movie class, about how often to use close ups (like the shot glasses) and the scenery. I adored the shot of the bloody girl sliding down the wall, and I loved the ending with the boys sitting at the pew. The disapearing shot is gorgeous and all of the victim clips (bodies, killings) are not something I've seen in many videos, which is awesome because I thought I had seen it all.
I miss the instrumentals of the song but know that sometimes without the lyrics, it is hard to keep the video interesting. Maybe I just like the song too much. ^_^ But I wouldn't have minded credits rolling so I could hear the end of the song.
From your lengthy explanation I can see that you thought hard about why you used the clips that you did. I recently finished a video of my own with the only intent being that I wanted to use clips I liked with a song that I liked (and reminded me of Dean). I am now inspired by you and (many others) to make my next video with much deeper thought. Many kudos to you for not dropping this video. The result is stunning.
