I knew that

charmax adored Joanie in Deadwood and she seemed like a natural choice for a brilliant song

charmax once upon a time gave me to vid Cuddy. So of course I wanted to do a happy Joanie vid with Jane in the mix for this blissful occasion. Which lead me to believe that I could do it - I completely underestimated that our dear Joanie is almost never truly happy.

xandra_ptv was my dedicated cheerleader and kicked my ass when I was ready to burst into tears from the lack of happiness.

I think Joanies greatest strengths were to endure her life and to bite her tongue, but I might have gotten bitter during vidding her. I had some fascinating conversations with Xandra on that subject and my feeling that I was vidding an AU as time passed. And thank you for your feedback, much appreciated.
